When you approach our home, you will first notice the nice yellow Charleston style front with white columns and large French doors leading to relaxing front porches. The porches are complete with 'haint blue' porch ceilings- a true Southern tradition! With only the view from the road, you can immediately tell your time at our home at Fripp will be memorable. Enter into our no smoking home and you will notice that we have worked hard to have our home inviting and comfortable for you and your family or friends. The overall decor can best be described as casual, nautical and natural. The home boasts large original art that sets off the overall scheme. The area of our home that you enter first is the great room which contains the living and dining area and also the kitchen all with hardwood oak floors. The 9 foot ceilings are perfect for making the room spacious and comfortable for many guests. The 40 inch LCD television is placed in a large white wooden built-in with great bookshelves, drawers and cabinets. In this area you will also find family games, cards, jigsaw puzzles, and DVDs for your enjoyment. The bead board, white molding and other detail shows the care the builder put into this fabulous house. The furniture in this room is a Pottery Barn inspired dark blue comfortable sectional sofa and two matching chairs that will put you in a 'beach state of mind'. Awesome large windows and glass French doors allow a peaceful view of the golf course and marsh from the sofa. In this great room is the first time you will notice the small Fripp Ships painted on the walls. Let me explain... there are 20 two-inch Fripp Ships in various places throughout the house- hidden in various places. See if you can find them all! Kids love this! In the kitchen you will also find the range, oven and microwave and outside the over sized gas grill for all your cooking needs. We have a large number of place settings for large gatherings. We have wine glasses for 30! We have tried to supply any kitchen gadget you might need- griddle, toaster among other things. The two pantries are large and should accommodate all the food you need for your trip. The dining area seats 6 comfortably and is perfect for those large meals or family game nights. We also have 4 stools that allow your additional family or friends to sit at the bar. We have a highchair that attaches to the chairs for the little ones not yet sitting still (I remember those days!). Possibly the most favorite eating location is found on the back screened-in porch that overlooks the golf course and low country marsh. This setting is perfect for your first cup of coffee or your last glass of wine or reading your favorite Pat Conroy novel. This is our favorite 'room' in the house! The view is wonderful. Now, let's talk about those well appointed bedrooms. One bedroom is found on the first floor and has its own full bathroom. This room is complete with a custom made Queen bed with pillow top mattress. The bed is inviting with high quality linens and a down comforter and duvet. You will feel pampered in this room. This room has plenty of room for your luggage as it contains a closet and its own access to the full bathroom and has French doors leading onto a private porch overlooking Bonito Road. Continue upstairs and you will be blown away by second bedroom (sleeps 5) with private full bath & TV/DVD, that is perfect for several children but can also function for a couple. This room has 2 sets of bunk beds, but for the couples who need to use this room, one of the bottom beds is a double! Next, let's go to the Master Bedroom... This large spacious room boasts cathedral ceilings, a large walk in closet and a well appointed king bed with cottage style furnishings. The bed is complete with fine linens and a down comforter and Pottery Barn duvet cover. This room has a large TV. The Master Bath has a rain head shower and large garden tub with windows overlooking the golf course and marsh. The large French doors from the bedroom lead onto a large porch that runs the length of the house and the views from this porch are awesome. Now, let's talk about that GOLF CART. You will have for use, while renting our home, a 4 passenger golf cart. Let's face it, once you park your car in the garage, you might not get back in until you leave. This electric golf cart will take you all over the island in style! Fripp is a family oriented, gated and safe community with the beach, pools, golfing, tennis and other recreational activities. You have access to a marina, shops, bars and restaurants- all just a walk, golf cart ride, or bicycle ride away. The island is only 3-4 miles long and so you can walk the length of it.
